Meet Health Engagement

Katherine (Kate) Stys, M.A., CWC

Kate Stys is the Wellness Program Manager for Health Engagement. Her primary responsibilities are to oversee internal and external group wellness programs to ensure all program goals are met. As a life-long South Jersey resident, she is passionate about supporting the health and well-being of those in the local area.

Kate received her bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science and went on to complete her master’s degree in Wellness and Lifestyle Management at Rowan University. Along with her role at AtlantiCare, Kate also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Rowan University teaching Health and Wellness to undergraduate students.



Tina Ellis, RN

Tina Ellis is a Registered Nurse with Health Engagement. Her responsibilities include community and employer group screenings as well as health coaching and education to promote wellness and disease prevention. Her professional background is in Critical Care nursing working in Intensive Care.

Tina is a lifelong South Jersey resident and enjoys promoting health and wellness within her local community. Tina received her nursing degree at Atlantic Cape Community College in 2009 and is currently pursuing her BSN at Wilmington University.



Maribel Maldonado, CWC

Maribel Maldonado is a Wellness Specialist with Health Engagement. Maribel holds a Certified Wellness Coach certification through the Spencer Institute and has 15 years’ experience as an educator. Maribel is also certified as a Master Trainer for “Matter of Balance, Managing Concerns about Falls” through the state of NJDHS. Maribel’s focus is providing worksite and community wellness, working with both Spanish and English speaking populations.

Additionally, Maribel serves a core member of the ALMA (AtlantiCare Latinos Moving Ahead) Diversity Group, which engages and empowers the organization by advancing cultural awareness and education in the compassionate care of our community.



Awilda Guzman, CWC

Awilda Guzman is a Wellness Specialist with AtlantiCare Health Engagement. Awilda has a B.A. in Education and a minor in Sociology. Awilda is also a certified Wellness Coach through the Spencer Institute and certified as a Master Trainer for “Matter of Balance, Managing Concerns about Falls” through the state of NJDHS. She has been working with AtlantiCare for over 10 years.

Awilda is passionate about her work with Health and Wellness because she has an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives by providing them with resources for better health and representing AtlantiCare in a positive way.



Christine (Chris) Mora

Christine is the Wellness Event Coordinator and Biometric Screening Lead for AtlantiCare Health Engagement. She started her career with AtlantiCare as a PCA for Nursing Resource in 2005. Various opportunities lead her from the patient bedside into our community. In 2009 Chrissy joined Health Engagement as the focus of healthcare began to transform from curative to preventive.

Christine now leads the department’s health & wellness outreach/screening resources for both the community at large, and AtlantiCare’s business partnerships. She feels deeply privileged to part of such a dedicated team, committed to improving the overall health and well-being of our community.



Alexis DiTomasso, M.A.

Alexis DiTomasso is a Wellness Coordinator with AtlantiCare Health Engagement. She has been a part of our team since October of 2015. Her primary responsibilities include customer service for AtlantiCare employees as well as other employer groups, data entry, updating department bulletin boards and coordinating wellness incentives or challenges such as “Maintain, Don’t Gain”. Alexis has her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Wellness and Lifestyle Management from Rowan University.

Alexis is most passionate about guiding others on their journey to improved wellness by sharing the knowledge she possess, as well as learning new things. She strives to keep herself up to date on the most current news and research in the wellness field.



Sandra (Sandy) Piccari

Sandy is a Wellness Coordinator with AtlantiCare Health Engagement. Her primary responsibilities include customer service, participating as a biometric screener, serving as an ambassador to share wellness program related information, data entry and coordinating wellness incentives or challenges such as the Farm Basket Program.

Sandy has over 29 years of experience in the health care field. Sandy is a former Hammonton EMT and also worked as a Preauthorization Clerk prior to joining Health Engagement. She is dedicated to helping others navigate resources and opportunities to assist others in their health and well-being.
